Six more shows have received Scotsman Fringe First Awards bringing the total so far in 2012 to 11.

The awards were set up 39 years ago to encourage new writing to come to the Fringe. This year more than 500 shows are eligible for the awards which take place every week of the Fringe.

Actor Claire Sweeney handed the prizes out at a ceremony in Assembly George Square.

The winners were Theatre Uncut (Traverse Theatre), macrobert, Utter & HighTide’s Educating Ronnie (Assembly George Square), Daniel Kitson’s As of 1.52pm GMT on Friday April 27th 2012, This Show Has No Title, Richard Marsh and Katie Bonna’s Dirty Great Love Story (Pleasance Dome), Stellar Quine’s The List (Summerhall) and Baxter Theatre Centre and South African State Theatre’s Mies Julie (Assembly Hall).

The final set of Scotsman Fringe First awards will be announced on Thursday 23rd August 2012.
